Five key points for safe and efficient use of submersible pumps

1. When purchasing a submersible pump, pay attention to its model, flow rate and head. If the selected specifications are not appropriate, you will not be able to obtain sufficient water output and cannot use the unit's efficiency. In addition, you should also know the direction of rotation of the motor. Some types of submersible pumps can discharge water during forward and reverse rotation, but the water output is small and the current is large when reversing. The reversal will damage the motor winding. In order to prevent electric shock caused by electric leakage when the submersible pump is working underwater, a leakage protection switch should be installed.

2. When installing the submersible pump, the cable should be overhead and the power cord should not be too long. Do not force the cable when the unit is launched, so as not to cause the power cord to break. Do not sink into the mud when the submersible pump is working. Otherwise, it will cause poor heat dissipation and burn the motor windings. When installing, the insulation resistance of the motor should not be lower than 0.5 megohms; the motor below 13 kW can be started directly, and the start compensator should be used above 13 kW.

3. Try to avoid 10% difference between the power supply voltage and the rated voltage at low voltage. If the voltage is too high, the motor will overheat and burn the winding. If the voltage is too low, the motor speed will drop. If the voltage is less than 70% of the rated speed, start the centrifugal switch. Will close, causing the starting winding to energize for a long time to heat or even burn the windings and capacitors. Do not switch the motor frequently. This is because the recirculation occurs when the pump is stopped. If it is turned on immediately, the motor load will start, causing the starting current to be too high and the winding to burn out.

4. Do not idle and overload operation Do not let the pump run for a long time without overloading. Do not pump water with a large amount of sand. The dehydration operation time of the electric pump should not be too long, so as not to overheat the motor and burn it. When the unit is in operation, the operator must observe whether the working voltage and current are within the values specified on the nameplate. If it does not meet the requirements, the motor should be stopped, find out the cause and eliminate the fault.

5. Usually check frequently. Usually check the motor. If the lower cover is cracked, the rubber seal ring is damaged or invalid, it should be replaced or repaired in time to prevent water from seeping into the machine.
